My baby's first competitive undertaking was her Gymboree Olympics last Sunday, Jan 24. She participated in team games, the piggy-back ride race then the shape sorting game. Her team won silver in the piggy-back ride race since a kid all of a sudden ran across the track and the dad in her team stumbled on the kid. Poor kid had to get ice on his chin, the result of which, my daughter's team lost the gold. In the next game, my daughter was able to sort most of the shapes in her team which won them the gold (I don't know if that's because she was the best on shape sorting in the team or maybe she was just the teacher's pet). Of course, I was very proud of my baby girl, who had the presence of mind to do the task at hand despite the boisterous cheering that confused some kids and brought them to tears. Right after she finished the shape sorting, she ran and raised both her arms and exlaimed "Yes! I did it!" Wasn't that competitive!
This blog is about my day to day life with my family: from our activities we wish to share with friends, fashion picks, kids behavior 101 and home design solutions.
